Can't you just create a AB line and name it ditch or something along those lines? Otherwise, I think all the monitors that do drainage save the profile that you could go back to.
If you are looking for proper placement, you will need some sort of desktop software and to a topo survey of the ground to decide on proper placement.
Does anything map where surface ditches go in fields?
