| Going to the moon and other planets provide great data on confirming/disproving the theories on how the solar system formed. It also helps us understand our own planet, which if scientists are honest, is still a pretty big mystery in many respects.
That data can be extrapolated to theories on Galaxy and Universe formation processes. I think it is 100% worth it.
Now sending people...at this time...not so much. I think we need ships that can travel faster than we have now. Too much risk currently given the time needed to travel between planets. | |
