I don't think Steak n Shake restaurants are in all parts of the country, but they are popular in the midwest. Founded in 1934 near Bloomington, IL. Seems they were very popular in the '50s & '60s, though they always seemed packed locally until Covid. In fact, I think the black & white decor depicted the '50s-'60s.

Now they will be changed. No more waiters/waitresses. Just "kiosk" ordering to save money. I hope the restaurant survives, but I'm not a fan of kiosk stuff. 

I also noticed a cutback in portions a few years back. I always enjoyed their "chili 5-way". Ordered it for years. Then a couple of years ago after they had a price increase, I noticed the bowls had become much shallower. The image was presented that it was they same due to the width of the bowl, but I'd guess it was at least 1/3 less product. Oh well...I guess they didn't ask me.
