| Just purchased a 5 ton portable AC (Air Rover) for my farm shop. At 60 years old I can no longer take the heat due to a heat stroke 3 years ago. I enjoy working in the shop but in the summer it is now a no go. Anyway the unit I purchased is set up to have the condenser intake air coming from inside. Wouldn't it be more efficient if the condenser air intake would be from the outside? I am no AC expert but it seems to me the shop would become negative and hot, humid outside make up air would pour in through any opening. Would it be a mistake to fabricate a duct and attach to unit to allow intake air for condenser to come from outside? I have to penetrate wall anyway for condenser exhaust so no big deal to make second penetration.
Thanks for any advice | |
