Bluford, Illinois | Unfortunately, staying on target isn't something this teacher seems to care about. At least going off on random rants, or discussions has never been a problem of his in the past.. he loves getting off-topic.
I understand your third point.. but I didn't question his beliefs necessarily. I just wanted to see why he felt the way he did.. and he didn't seem interested in telling us. I'm not worried about my class grade. When a teacher refuses any type of reason/discussion I lose respect. I'm certainly not the only in the class who commonly disagrees with him.
When I teach, and a student questions something I say.. I would want to explain to the student how/what/why.
I'm fine with a discussion on both. The thread was created to see if a majority agreed, whether it was or wasn't a problem. That will bring up discussion regarding the land issue, and teacher.
