There’s so many improvements you can make to that drill. IMO, year one, all of your time and money should go into overhauling the row unit: bushings, seed boots, bearings, etc. I’ve never seen a JD drill where there wasn’t a lot of slop in the row unit.

Go to Needham Ag’s website and download there product book. It lists all the improvements/repairs you need to look at and gives excellent explanations on why.

Both Needham Ag and Exapta sell excellent parts that are better than OEM. If you’re not looking to upgrade your parts, Shoup is another good source for OEM style parts.
