Scranton | Had a bunch of old crop in september/october. Neighbor was just starting to harvest and I stopped and talked to him, as corn had hit $3.61 locally. Told him I was thinking about dumping a bunch of old and some new. He cooled my jets and said, maybe sell 10 percent and see where it goes. Glad he did.
We had such a short crop, many fields half or less than normal, that all this did was make it a decent year vs a piss poor year, fiscally speaking. Agronomically speaking, it was probably the worst since I started, or that I even remember, and we were in the heart of the 12 drought. Drought plus wind and hail. Thank god for the hail. | |
