Pontiac, IL. | Our shop with floor heat was built Before anybody thought of in-floor thermostats. Our boiler also heats our domestic hot water with a boiler-mate water heater, so it is producing HOT water. Our plumber hooked the "out to floor" lines together with the "return" lines with a valve in that line. By opening or closing that valve, it keeps the floor from getting too hot when the wall thermostat calls for heat. We run that valve about 1/3 open. This winter was the first time I noticed ours ever "overshoot" the set temperature, This happened after my brother set 8 round bales and a cold tractor and loader in the shop for the night so that he could get the frozen net wrap off. The next day the temp in the shop was 3 degrees higher than set temperature. Not a big deal. Usually the temp is very close to the set temp. | |
