Subject: RE: New milking parlour questions

Lacombe, Alberta
The quote I got for new Delaval parabone didn't have rapid exit and was already same price as robots. Sounded like it was special order for this one to be rapid exit so more costs.

For robots my dad talked to his feed guy and it would cost $10/tonne to switch half his complete feed to pellet. So 5kg pellet adds $0.05 to his price versus $1 here. He's not commodities so he's a bit higher than us but it's ridiculous the difference between provinces. Your feed quality is better so you can feed more forage than us for the same production. If we have two parlour farms here we can buy whole truckloads of commodities and split between farms which helps profitability.
