Central Indiana | I agree S is a macro°2. Having S is a must here. Boron and zinc seem to be our limiting factor, and it's hard to test for. Our after harvest soil tests show it low. Our tissue tests near tassel before a rain, everything is low. After a nice .5 rain tissue tests come back low to low moderate on zinc and boron. Application then becomes a problem. Thinking when the corn plant needs it, and how long micros will stick around. When do you apply? I've been trying a quart of zinc in 2x2. Boron should fit nicely in a sidedress situations. Verdict is still out on if we see a significient yield increase on zinc. This will be the third year, last year we ended up pretty dry, probably throw out last year data. This will be the first year with boron.
Be nice to see what others have been doing with micros longer, and application/timing. Wondering about y dropping boron | |
