You need a local mentor. Maybe somebody in your 4H club could help. Right now I would start with putting a halter on the calf and tying it up a few hours every day. Just slowly approach the calf to get it used to you and begin brushing it daily. Get it used to being led to feed and water. Some calves are just knot heads and some tame down rapidly.
