I prefer closed all the time, but Timpte dealer says leave open with traps open to let snow and leaves fall out ? I don't think I'll be doing that and the sun will still rot the tarp where it's rolled up, mine wear out out over the bows first and that's from driving down the roads.
I had mice make home in rolled up tarp once, ruined it.
