We just picked up a 2011 9770 with XHD variable speed feeder house. From everything I’ve read on here and visiting with local dealer and neighbors I switched it to a fixed drive setup. We are all small grains so no big deal. Sounds like the variable speeds are a royal PITA in terms of maintenance and in repair costs. So I would assume 5 speed would be the way to go.
