Subject: RE: 7.3 Ford vs 6.4 ram

Central Minnesota
I have a 6.2 gas. Traded a 6.0 diesel for it. The 6.2 with the 6speed auto is nice. Will pull just about anything. But the gas mileage is terrible when pulling. Pull our 40’ toyhauler, and if you baby it, you’ll get 5mpg. Pulled a 7x14 enclosed with 4 wheeler and hunting gear out to Wyoming and got 6.5mpg with it.

The 6.2 is a CC with SRW. It’s not really enough tire for the toyhauler. Really should have a DRW under it. Kinda gets a little squirrelly. Been thinking hard about a 6.7. But the 7.3 does have me looking into it. But really scared of finding a 7.3gas and ending up with same mpg, but just more tire on the ground. Would really like a little better fuel economy out of it. But it really is hard to want to trade the 6.2, never had an issue with it.

I am looking at used. But dealers with slightly used trucks, aren’t bashful about the price.
