I’ve never seen anyone stab a dead with a bale fork, I admit I’m lazy but not that lazy.
When I had cows they were on there own but I calved in April/May.
Last couple weeks I been helping some friends with calving when I had time. Even the guys that don’t babysit checked more. Actually we were all sleep deprived since we ran 24/7 catching a nap when we could. When you have a freak weather event you go to work.

Using a bale spear to move a dead animal is a time tested efficient way around here. Everybody stays clean, and size doesn't matter. Although one time I tried to use it on a Belgian draft horse that drowned in a neighbor's creek, and that time size DID matter! I call it working smarter not harder, etc... not lazy.
