I agree, but if it's a tractor that you really don't care for, then that's a harder choice.
Do you like your current tractor? How many hours is high? My fil has a JD 7700 powerquad, fwa with loader. 19xxx hrs. Good shape yet. Finally had to do some injector work due to grandpa putting gas in the fuel tank and rebuilt his front axle. He's had it since '96 and has been through some serious winters and use, maybe boarder line abuse at times.
We have a ford tw35, NOT a handy feeding tractor, but it blows the doors off a belarus 825, which obviously isn't a fair comparison.

What model do you have now? Buy its twin, and keep that as a backup. That way, any knowledge and stored spare parts will be applicable to both. The right tractor models can be kept running indefinitely with a little elbow grease and aftermarket parts.
