SE SD | Thanks for all the input! Depending on the weather, most of October consists of soybean harvest. Then November is usually when all the corn is harvested. So the window and options may be limited. Ideally, what I would like to do is go into standing corn stalks with a VT tool after the fall fert and cover crop seed is broadcasted. Work it in, and in the spring do a burn down with a pre-emerge herbicide and plant soybeans into a smooth stale (in this case cover crop) seedbed. I'm thinking as long as the cover only gets knee high or less, I'd be okay to plant into it. | |
