One thing I would like to add about the cost of seeding, fuel, time, etc.

You can broadcast cereal rye at 60’ mixed with your fertilizer pass for maybe free or a couple bucks, on top of whatever your seed cost is. That is the cheap, fast, and easy way. Or you could run a 15’ drill which is the expensive, slow, and more fuel/labor way. Both can accomplish the same thing in most cases. I prefer the getting the seed in the ground method.
