South Texas | One thing I wonder about malpresentations, and other calving problems.
Is it that those who babysit their cows are saving them and breeding that into their herds, while here they would have died thus breeding that out? Does genetics even have anything to do with malpresentations?
Or if left alone most cows will push them out anyway? Occasionally I will find an exhausted cow and a dead calf, it seems every time it will be in the thickest brush, like they know what’s coming and go hide real good. I have told them if they’re gonna have problems they should go to the pens but they don’t seem to trust me on that. | |
