Subject: RE: THE SUBTLE SCIENCE BEHIND SOIL AGGREGATES

I like the part about tillage induces air into the soil to breakdown soil to release nutrients. So that means that you should not use any soil products that have microbes that release the nutrients that break down organic materials. Again Iowa State U has said and continues to say that after so many years you need to do some tillage because the residue build up top of the ground breaks down and incorporation puts more into the ground rather than loss to atmosphere or runoff.
Also pattern tiling introduces large amounts of air and increases air movement from and to the soils due to the decrease on water filling up the pores in the soil and also allows more air movement below the tile. Almost everyone agrees that pattern tile helps improve yield. Best statement the article is that no specific practices fits all ground.
