Salary can work really well for everyone if all of the parties involved are on the same page and of sound character. We have had salaried people for years and it usually works out well. We pay a very nice salary along with a bonus program. We don't keep track of hours. We allow unlimited sick day and the ability to take time off for doctor appointments and family obligations. We expect them to be there when we need them in busy seasons and we expect them to stay as long as it takes to get the work done. In slower times when there isn't much going on they can take half a day off or whatever they need to do. We also have allotted vacation time. This works really well as long as the employee is honest and you know they will show up for work everyday.
