NE KS | I loved sports, football and basketball. Cost me a broken leg (compound fracture with a rod, so now I have knee problems due to surgery) in high school then in college it cost me a herniated disk in my back and most likely a lifetime of back pain, along with shoulder pain (probably will need replacements). I'm only 35 but I loved every minute of it. Would I change it? Probably not. Sports taught me a lot of discipline and self motivation to make me the hard working person who never quits that I am today and push the same onto my kids. My wife often asks how I can work so many hours in the cold or heat and long hrs with very little sleep or how I can keep pushing through even when it seems I'm loosing. I tell her every time I just think of my coach or dad yelling at me and I just keep going. | |
