Subject: RE: How does drain tile work?

Frytown, Iowa
Feed lot run off should go into a lagoon to be pumped and spread at 10,000 gal/ac I’m sure a tile would work if that’s the case but it would not be good to let a sizable area of manure drain into a water source. Sometimes it’s less about the rules and more about common sense. Feed lots need drainage into a lagoon or kept clean enough that what does run off can filter out in grass before hitting the creeks. This is my opinion and not every feed lot is large enough to make a difference but some definitely are. Good luck. Concrete and a lagoon may be a better way than tile
