Don't know for sure but I would think the cattle will create such a "hardpan" in the lots that it won't allow any moisture to soak down into the ground (like would happen in a normal field) or at least not enough is going to get to the tile that it will help anyways, just my opinion

In a feedlot situation, cattle do one heck of a packing job.

I agree. Our feedlot was built on sandy soil that was underlain with gravel, but it didn't drain very well. The manure and mud collected in pools in a soupy mess, and stayed that way half the year.
