East central Iowa | I agree it's crazy. Appliances, flooring, big box store cards, furniture, everything. You can have payments on everything and look pretty high rolling. Someday you will pay the piper.
I think credit is too easy for most and that is what gets a lot in trouble when a income source is lost like job layoff or hours reduced.
Last fall wanted to upgrade my compact tractor. Well I knew what I could write a check for. But it would make cash flow a little tight for the last 3 moths of the year but doable. Well so did the deal and JD had 0% for 60 months. Sighed purchase agreement, one week later the bring new tractor, take old one and sign 2 times on forms and done. Way to easy. First of year came and paid off balance.
Was never asked or told about credit app. I do have a farm plan acct so I know they have my ss# and what not. Simplest major purchase I've ever done.
Limited credit not always a bad thing.
