Pittsburg, Kansas | Well I know more than I understand about the subject but if a person subscribes to Dave Feldman's hypothesis that LDL is an energy carrier (with cholesterol just being a passenger along with the cargo of lipids), what you describe makes sense to me and my non-medical mind. If the body determines how much LDL (carriers) are needed (to transport lipids) and we artificially reduce the number of those carriers it would be logical it might disrupt the amount of energy we had avilable.
But hey, what do we plow jockeys know????
In the heart risk evaluation tools, LDL isn't even used in the calculation.
