You’re probably more patient than me, I have some heifers every year. If i see water bag I’ll only wait 1 hour or a little more. If I see feet she better be making progress or I help. Years ago I felt I waited to long and heifer got wore out and it’s hard on calf to be in birth canal to long.
Calve 40 to 50 heifers each year, I give an hour after the water bag to see feet. An an or or so after I see feet, as long as things are progressing, and the head is not stuck and the tongue swelling, I leave her work on her own. If there is no progression or the tongue starting to swell, then I give a bit of help. |
