Northwest Illinois | I had a left shoulder replacement done at Mayo Clinic 5 years ago. The most important thing is to do your therapy exactly as recommended. All of my exercises I did at home, and have recovered nicely. It is recommended I not lift over 25 pounds with that shoulder, so I let the sons do that work(easy excuse for the old man). I am very happy with the results 5 years later, and am pain free.
I had a full knee replacement last year, followed physical therapy recommendations, and again, I am pain free. Find a surgeon you have confidence in, and go for it. After years of pain, you will find being pain free will be mentally and emotionally uplifting. | |
