E.Central MN | The whole carbon program looks just like a new age smoke and mirrors attempt to use farmer data in order to grab a ton of money from corporations that are looking for a way to get out of the new regulations on them. The same people that are trying to use tracts of forest land to collect carbon credits are standing around unconcerned when millions of acres of forest land go up in flames. How does that make any sense? It doesn't. Neither does it make sense to pay farmers to do something that they probably would be willing to do anyway, especially when the science isn't clear that it would really work long term. This past year I'm guessing we've gone thru what is probably the biggest reduction in carbon generated by human activity in the last century, and it was caused by covid. Maybe they should spend some of their carbon program marketing money on studying what actually happened instead of just propping up some scam to grab as much free money from corporations as they can get. | |
