I looked up where you live in Texas and I would say if you have a tight well house without drafts there would be no need for insulation. But again you need to have it tight enough so there are no drafts. A small vented propane heater will be plenty. Up here in the north we have ice fishing shack heaters that run on a small bottle of propane. A good sized ice shack will stay plenty warm with one of those little heaters going. At an auction I picked up a brand new old stock propane camper heater that was thrown in a box. It looks like it vents out the sidewall and does not need electricity. If we lived closer together I would give it to you. Might pay to go to a camper dealer and ask what they have. Like what was mentioned before Pex will stand freezing much better than PVC.
