There's a guy on one of the chainsaw forestry sites that took one of the modules apart and came up with a fix. It's a cheap part and not too hard to wire it in if you're interested in doing it yourself, or know a younger person into that sort of thing.
Seems like these old Stilh's all have the same problem. I had a 038 and a 044 this happen to. Couldn't even buy a new one for either. Sold them to a guy back East and he had a way he put a modern module in them. I think if you look around on the forestry sites you will find him. It's been probably five years ago I sold both of them to him. |
