Palm fat in canadian butter

So this is pretty much the talk of the town around here.

Apparently the dairy farmers are feeding so much palm fat to their cows it’s changing the way the butter melts.

Ive worked for a few different dairy farmers milking. Some fed palm fat, some didnt. Felt strange to pour it in the mixer, but all the cows that ate it seemed to be in fine health.


Personally i feel like it is a slight to the consumer, who wants to buy butter. There is margarine in the same aisle, if they wanted palm fat they could buy it themselves.

What are your opinions on the matter?
