There’s corn borers and root worms because there isn’t enough diversity of the rotation.
This is just not accurate.
There are something like 200 host plants suitable for the ECB and the adults can travel long distances to lay eggs. And, in IL we have RW variants that lay eggs in more than just corn fields and also extended diapause eggs.
