That's how it gets put in for the thumb in general, muck gets sock tile, everything else is knife cut. Too many soil types in a 40 to be changing tile 4 times a run. Most of the problems we find in tiled fields are the 1/4" hole tile plugging with soil. After 20 years its complete junk.
