Central Nebraska | On the FEMA note, there were lots of pretty pictures painted and in the end folks found out things weren't quite so rosy. That is fine as people in these parts do a darn good job of looking out for themselves and their neighbors. We were on the southwestern edge and weren't affected as much as those to the north and east. We did however get several torrential rains later that spring summer and fall. There were several places that didn't have dry basements until late last summer but things are coming along. We went from a low of -38 last Monday to a high of 47 yesterday so the snow is melting fast which is giving people an uneasy feeling but overall things aren't too bad. | |
