South Central MN | I certainly understand the concern, and it is why I said the usda should be prosecuting the frauds. I also realize there are legit concerns about organic practices such as the increased tillage. I could also see how it's be easy to fool the inspectors, but I've also heard first hand of loads of organic corn being rejected due to high gmo content when the farmer was legit and the crop was contaminated somehow outside of his control.
That being said, our farm has been more profitable and our ground has certainly improved since going organic. I'm not about to claim organic is the only way to achieve those goals, but a post like the op's painting an entire industry as fraudulent does rub me wrong. | |
