scmn

Here it is $25-50/ft for the hole.  Price varies a littler depending on the driller with most in the $25-30/ft range for a 5" PVC cased well; price jumps to $45-50/ft if you get into rock and then you end up with a 6" steel cased well.

We had quotes for $9,500-$11,000 for 100' well which included everything minus the electrical cost to hook up the well.  Prices varied based on pump size and pump depth.  We ended up at 362ft in a rock well before we hit water, but after pumping 25gpm for a week the static water level only dropped 10ft from the 2hr level.  Needless to say we missed our 14k budget by a long shot.

If you do drill a well, keep the old one active and use it some so that you have a backup for the livestock.  We installed a manifold that can direct water from either well to any point in the yard with the turn of 2 valves.  The manifold was under $150 for the PVC fittings.
