One of our local lakes here is unique geologically in that it and it's watershed are actually at a higher elevation than most of the surrounding area.
so water levels fluctuate alot especially when a drought shows up, so back in 2011-12 there was a lot of hand wringing about the future of this particular lake because of the low levels, and as usual it seems the conversation turns into a farmer bash fest because most of the watershed is farmed, and somehow the farmers in the watershed are responsible for the drought.
then 2013 shows up......lake levels are back to normal levels in 3 months, something that was supposed to take three or four years.... |
