Subject: RE: either stupid word or stupid me

East central Iowa

In a spreadsheet I can choose the format of a cell.  It can be text, date, currency or some custom one.

Below is a typical portion of an Excel spreadsheet.  I converted some text data to a table in Word.  Then decided for clarity that it should be in a currency format and rather than going to individual cells and type $ 123,222.00 I thought I'd set the format of the cells to currency in one fell swoop.  I'm aware of setting tabs and that you can set leaders of different styles to the tabs.  I also use the math functions in the Word tables.  But this is aggravating.

It was then I discovered that there doesn't seem to be a way to do that in Word.

The irritating thing is LibreOffice can do that when using their Writer program.

Oh, almost forgot, thank you.
