Subject: actually, sounds like ARMS survey

Seymour, IL
the type of question you describe sounds like it comes from the ARMS survey...
What Is the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS)?

The Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's primary source of information on the production practices, resource use, and economic well-being of America’s farms and ranches. The results of this survey give farmers, ranchers, and many others factual insights into many aspects of farming, ranching, and conditions in agricultural communities.

and yes, the data does get used....I have referenced ARMS data for work...

and for all that think the data is all at the FSA office....there are quite specific rules about who can see what into...it does not all go into a central info repository.

long way around to noting it was likely a legitimate survey
