It can work for you with about a 5 yr. recoup of cost assuming nothing breaks down. The other main thing about your own base, is it 900 radio? or 450 radio. The reason I ask is for the 900 you need no license. For the 450 you need to apply for an FCC license and they will grant you a frequency for your area at a charge!!
