North Central Illinois
I'm pretty sure all of the large two engine planes are designed to be able to safely take off if they lose an engine on or after rotation. I'm not sure how long after takeoff this incident took place but the location of debris would indicate that the plane was well airborne when it happened. I suppose the failure could have happened on takeoff but the engine didn't shed any debris until a few moments later. That would sure pucker you up if you had a window seat and were able to see that engine burning on the wing!
