Subject: RE: Dog names

North End I-15
My Good neighbor Don had 3 dogs that all reacted to the same name.
Not gonna mention the name as it might offend some's sensibility.
But it was a two word name . Started with "T" ending with "Hound."
The County road was routed through Don's yard so we always slowed way down passing through.

The leader of the group was a Red Healer .
The Red Healer would always lie in wait by a Lilac bush on the corner of yard .
He was the early warning guard to sound the attack alarm to the other two who would be hiding in the shade of the shop across the drive .

One day another neighbor and I were driving slowly through the yard . My rather large Airedale was in the back minding his own business .
The Red Healer decided to pass on the tire and to take a leap at "Jack" .
I was busy giving the "T hound down !" command to the two trying out the left side tires .
Neighbor in Jump seat started laughing , I looked over and he said "look in the right rearview mirror ".
Sure enough Jack had the Red Healer in his mouth dragging him along.
I hollered "Jack, drop it" which of course he did .

After that day of head crunching , the Red Healer always checked to make sure Jack wasn't in the back.

I sure miss that dog.
