CIL | I’m curious, we run a very old bar, with no cooler, but there is a small purge (bleed) valve between the tank hookup and the hose leading to the bar. Is that what you are talking about?
We always make sure to close the tank valve, then empty the bar in the last few yards to bleed the system to switch tanks. We use that bleed valve to ensure the hose is empty. After switching tanks, we open the tank valve only when we know the bar is shutdown, the supply line is empty and we do it from the ground on the side that the wind is blowing towards the tank. That way if something goes wrong, you can run away. We open the valve on the hose first, then slowly open the valve on the tank.
