Michigan | I really don’t “want” more ground but in 10 years when my 3 boys might want to come on board I want room for them. 2600 acres of income in Iowa may also be different than the marginal land we farm here. Like I explained we seem to only average 100 acres or so per year expansion so in 10 years I’ll only have 3,600 acres. In 10 years 3,600 may not be enough for 2 families let alone 5. I’m really not that spread out too bad it’s about a 25 mile distance to the furthest field and there is 300 acres in that area. Ego? That’s a joke if you knew me, I’m determined to make it. We run the oldest equipment for the acres of any one around. Most wouldn’t believe we farm what we do. Put 535 hrs on a 2005 9520 in 2020 that has 9,000 hrs on and had to split the rear axle in the middle of planting in our shop, put 350 hrs on a 2002 9650 STS combine. I think you have made some assumptions that if you knew us are totally false. | |
