I tried bifocals once. The line was directly across all the gauges in trucks and tractors-constantly had to raise /lower head trying to focus.
Wore progressives last 40 plus years. Remember 1 pair cut incorrectly-wrong curvature. Everything would jump as they passed from font of lenses to sides. I could look down 2x4 looking for a bow and it would bow down no matter which way I turned it.
Office replace that pair immediately. My eyes distance stuff if fuzzy- up close are a total blur without glasses.
The main problems I have with progressives are combine monitors which are overhead. I get a crook in my neck if I have to do much programming on them.
I will agree, climbing around on machinery can be hazardous to ones health with glasses, be they bifocals or progressives.
when I had ,got my first pair
I sat in all the vehicles and placed dots on the old glasses
told the optometrist that, that is where the line is going
