First off a 270 aph and he is planting soybeans ? What are his expected soybean yields or soybean aph ?

Garvo I will admit my insurance analysis skills lack just like my marketing skills. I agree that cost is a big factor to consider. If you are going to double the premium how much does your ability to trigger a payment improve ? To me that is more important than the added coverage. A $914 guarantee ought to keep you whole in a disaster type event. And what are your goals or needs for taking out crop insurance? Are you just keeping yourself whole in bad times or would you like the opportunity to get paid by insurance more often ? Weather and growing seasons have been kind to us more often than not so we don't collect from insurance very often. I might be inclined to stick with the $914 guarantee but that's because it would serve my purpose of insurance. There's a good chance something else is better , sorry not much help here.
