I would like to see your costs. Include depreciation, labor , trucking, drying, insurance, taxes , fert ,seed , chemicals, interest, fuel , oil , repairs, machinery, etc
Don't run new iron. Have enough inventory of paid for equipment to go @ least 10 years without spending much to keep farming. $10,000 year average in equipment purchase cost would more than likely get me by the next ten years of needed to. Actually if thinned the herd some won't have to spend a dime and could add to liquidity.
Don't buy any inputs retail. 100% of fertilizer is run through on farm fertilizer storage. Buy seed corn and chemicals wholesale. Don't buy much seed wheat and seed beans, I raise my own seed wheat and beans for the most part. 100% of grain is run through and dried on farm. Don't have any payments on any of it. just repairs and fuel - energy cost.
