The effects of that storm are still visible here. Lots of trees had the top broken out, and what would have been a good sawlog became three or four worthless leaders. Lots of trees that survived are now rotting from the inside due to injuries. My brother in law had to cut his way out through a couple of miles of road that were covered with down trees. We were living in Hawaii at the time so only saw pictures. A local contractor who had done a lot of work on the house hooked up a generator to keep the house from freezing.
