There was a house here that the people went to Arizona for the winter & forgot to turn off the water to the swamp cooler. The line froze in the attic & split...2-story house, they got home & water was running out the front door. Didn't hear what they ended up doing, but it was almost a tear down & start over situation...
That is why you shut the water off when gone, I shut mine off when gone for a day or less even. I just have a gate valve in the basement so easy to do, wife knows about it too. |
